- Albir beach and its promenade
The white stone beach contrasts beautifully with the turquoise waters; waters that become warm and crystal clear in the summer months.
The beach also has various play areas for children, lifeguards in the summer season, public toilets in very good condition, access for the disabled and an outdoor library where you can borrow books, newspapers or connect to the internet for free.
It’s also well known for The Walk of Stars. A beautiful white marble promenade, full of palm trees and well lit at night runs along the beach. At the end of it is the famous Anchor, a monument around which you can find markets, concerts and summer cinema during summer time.
- Benidorm
Visit Benidorm, the lively seaside town nearby. Here you will find theme parks such as Terra Mítica, Aqualandia and Mundomar, perfect for a family outing. Besides its vibrant nightlife, Benidorm’s old town also offers cosy streets, shops and restaurants.
- MundoMar
Mundomar is a beautiful marine animal park featuring dolphin and sea lion shows, as well exhibits with diverse wildlife.
- Guadalest
Visit the picturesque mountain village of Guadalest, an ancient village with Arab origins being one of the prettiest villages in Spain. Guadalest is situated on a cliff with fabulous views over a water reservoir and countryside. Explore the old castle, the ethnological museum and enjoy the panoramic views.
- The Relleu Footbridge
If you are a bit adventurous then a must do is this spectacular construction located in a natural setting of great beauty and environmental value. Walk along this vertiginous 370-metre-long section, which is only suitable for the bravest. It is located 40 metres above sea level in the rocky strait of the Relleu reservoir.
- Villaitana Golf
The Meliá Villaitana in Sierra Cortina Finestrat is located in a natural setting that is perfect for golf due to its geography and climate. The hotel offers two distinctive 18 holes Nicklaus Design golf courses that will appeal to amateurs and professionals alike.
- Puig Campana Golf
Puig Campana Golf is a new 9-hole course designed by Sterling & Martin also situated in the Finestrat area. Although only playing 9 holes the course will be complemented by a future 9-hole course located in Villajoyosa
- Wine tasting
Take a trip to Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, a local winery, and enjoy wine tastings overlooking the rolling vineyards. This wonderful little winery is only minutes from Albir.
- Sierra Helada Natural Park
The spectacular Sierra Helada mountain range offers incredible scenery as a backdrop to the magnificent resort of El Albir and separates it from the neighboring municipality, Benidorm. Go explore it by a spectacular hiking route with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the diverse landscapes.
- Theme parks: Aqualandia
Enjoy one of the biggest water parks in Europe and the biggest in the Valencian Community, guaranteed fun!
- Altea
Visit nearby Altea, known for its beautiful old town and whitewashed houses. Lose yourself in the narrow, cobbled streets around the church, enjoy a glass of wine or a mojito in the main square, and take wonderful photos of the whole bay from the viewing platform, which is opposite the church.
- Fonts de l'Algar
At just 12km from Albir and 3km from the centre of Callosa d’en Sarrià you will discover a paradise waterfall at Fonts de l’Algar, declared a Protected Water Area in 2002. The Algar waterfalls is a scenic natural swimming paradise with waterfalls, a hiking trail, swimming spots and a picnic area surrounded by abundant greenery. Ideal for a refreshing swim and a relaxing day in nature.
- Alicante
Alicante is the capital of the province of the same name and is beautifully located on a large bay, at the foot of the mountainous Castillo de Santa Bárbara. It is the second largest city on the Costa Blanca after Valencia. Alicante is known for its beautiful palm-lined promenade, the «Explanada España».
The cosy old quarter has narrow streets, hidden squares and many cosy (good) restaurants and cafés. In the evening it buzzes until late. Add to this the beautiful beaches and a wonderful marina, and Alicante is a real city break destination.
- Play Golf
For golf lovers, there are several golf courses in the area where you can enjoy a relaxing day on the green.
To practise your drive and your putt visit the landscaped gem that is Albir Golf, right in the centre of town. This is only a practice ground.
- Altea Club De Golf
For golf lovers, there are several golf courses in the area where you can enjoy a relaxing day on the green.
Hidden on the lower slopes of Mount Sierra Bernia, close to the village of Altea la Vella and just 15 minutes from Albir, lies the oldest and one of the most picturesque golf courses on the Costa Blanca. It is characterised by stunning mountain and sea views and a beautiful restaurant and terrace.
Altea Club de Golf is a par 72 course that can be played as 9 or 18 holes and is a good test for all levels of golfers.
- Local Market
Sundays mornings in Albir are about the colourful fruit market, the smell of spit roast chickens, a freshly made pastry and coffee with a friend.
The main market in Albir takes place on a Sunday morning in the large car park about half way down the avenue. Buy fruit and vegetables from a local farmer, pickled vegetables, cured hams, dried fish, freshly roasted spit chicken, fresh artisanal bread and cakes, or browse stalls of clothes and household goods.
